It may be added that Unani system of medicine, as practiced in India today, is quite different from the original Greek medicine. The Unani Physicians who settled in India were not content with adopting known Indian drugs only, but they subjected new drugs to clinical tests and added numerous new native drugs to their own system. It was because of its vast wealth of knowledge and experience that the system Found immediate favors with the masses and soon spread all over the country and continued to hold unchallenged sway for centuries.
